Last I checked, the Short extension for Chrome would shorten any manually-selected links. The manual selection piece is what I'm hoping gets improved.
Usage case: I use Buffer, HubSpot, and other social media post scheduling software for clients (and myself). These services must have pre-existing contracts with services like bitly.com.
When inserting a long link into a newly scheduled social media post, I'd love for the Short.io extension to take over.
Short.io's extension settings can have social media post scheduling software domains whitelisted to auto-replace URLs. When the browser extension detects a full URL, and the user advances fields, the Short extension rewrites the long URL with a shortened one.
An Undo symbol, similar to its usage in autocorrect software, would also come in handy.
Post-scheduling for social media services are heavily limited with their choices of URL shortening services, so it's a boon to have Short.io's extension working with some sort of automatic long link replacement.
